Sculpture 1 : First Sign of Spring
Media: Mild steel, enamel, fused glass
Dimensions: 113" x 58" x 55"
$18000
The Natural World has many observers and admirers from Bird Watchers, Farmers and Recreationalist. As a sculptor, I seek to integrate observations of garden and back country adventures into a modern interpretation of steel and glass. Sometimes these forms are awkward and unbalanced, as is the Natural World in all it's wonder. It’s an act of stewardship to foster a greater appreciation to protect our beautiful resource.
The glass is highly interactive with light. It connects an experience with the land and the beautiful complexity of living. Looking through the organic forms, the viewer observes the natural light absorbing into its core. This sculpture advocates for an appreciation of the West and it's relationship with water.
The glass is highly durable at 6mm-thick. As a note, my studio was hammered by a violent hail storm. It damaged my Volvo. The sculpture didn’t have a single nick.

Sculpture 2 : Delilah
Media: Mild steel, powder coat, enamel
Dimensions: 120" x 44" x 40"
$12000
If you recall the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, Delilah cut Samson’s hair and took his infamous strength that moved entire buildings. This story is an archetypal one that relates to how women must negotiate the male ego, even today. That’s not to suggest that women don’t have difficult characteristics of their own, but for this sculpture, it’s a woman’s story. If this sculpture could sing aloud, you’d hear a “tee-hee-hee” as she swings around in her little dance.
“Delilah” is constructed of steel and finished in a durable powder-coated RED. As a sculptor, I seek to describe the experience of the ever-changing roles of women in our contemporary culture. The sculptures appear whimsical and dancing. It’s a dance balancing demands of tradition, family, careers and social morals.
