My sculptures are created in bronze, stone and fiberglass. I work with the human figure as my subject matter. I call the work Figurative Impression, using elements and principles of design and a style based in the art history of the early 1900s. This style allows me to create the human figure in a new point of view or impression.
I enjoy communicating my visual impressions of our world through materials. I am addicted to the creative process and the art of making. I never tire of exploring new combinations of art elements and art principles with materials in my works of art. Through this process I learn more about myself and the world we live in. The creative process continually challenges who I am and how I do things. Design exploration, quality craftsmanship and the quest for the new drive me. When I can breathe a vision into materials, I get to watch it take on a life of its own. This is what being an artist is for me.
