"Unzipped" is a striking 8-foot-tall steel sculpture that transforms industrial material into a playful illusion. The piece features a solid steel I-beam vertically split down the center for about three feet, with meticulously crafted steel elements that resemble the teeth of a zipper running along the opening. A large zipper pull completing the effect. The sculpture challenges perceptions of strength and rigidity by making the unyielding I-beam appear as if it’s being effortlessly unzipped—blending humor, craftsmanship, and conceptual depth in one bold visual statement.
