Meet Ivanito, the reigning bull of Ginger Roots Farm in St. Ignatius, Montana. A gentle, but commanding figure at the farm, Ivanito is a pleasure to hang out with, and I visit him whenever possible. The form is based on my own observational drawings. I use simple lines to capture story, personality, and emotion. And Ivanito has plenty of personality!
As viewers move around the sculpture, the image changes and there is a sense of discovery. Lines overlap, break apart, and reassemble, sometimes appearing solid and other times nearly disappearing. It can be seen in passing, yet rewards attention, as the wires come together and the form resolves.
Constructed from steel and finished in Beeswax and Linseed oil.
