Sculpture 1 : Roots, Wings and Love
Media: Steel and Stainless Steel
Dimensions: 12' high X 5' wide X 2' deep
$26,750
Roots, Wings and Love explores the possibility that in order to truly love something you need to let it go. The sculpture has two quotes cut into its steel façade that tangibly explore this paradox; words from a contemporary American Christian evangelical balanced out with a passage written by a 13th-century Persian Sufi mystic. Two unique human beings, two unique cultures, two unique periods of time, two unique faiths. Yet in trying to decipher Love, a Christian and a Muslim transcend all boundaries and meet in a singular expression free from the constructs of ethnicity, culture, time and faith. Both men being grounded yet surrendered by Love.
Is this really possible?
Sculpture 2 : Warning Beacon
Media: Stainless steel, Mild steel
Dimensions: 11'H x 2'W x 4'L
$10,750
Warning Beacon is a sculptural chime that was inspired by the floating maritime warning bells that are placed in harbors and waterways to warn mariners of danger. Paradoxically, its tall arcing form and gentle tone are designed to draw pedestrians toward it, where an old koan projects a warning on the human condition. This warning is a gift that has the power to open our hearts and deeply transform the way we interact with ourselves and the world around us. As it has been said through the ages, to change ourselves is to change the world. Thus, Warning Beacon is a potential catalyst for compassionate foundational change, one of the essential components for humanity’s positive evolution.
